on monday this whole scenario repeated itself and i told him that he should just plan a day to sleep in so he wouldn't even be woken up. he decided to stay home on wednesday so he could come see addie at gymnastics. ('nastics if your 2 and/or cool) that worked out perfectly because wednesday also happened to be playgroup at our house and we were having a valentines party!
so he stayed up late with me on tuesday cleaning (i've fallen behind on my cleaning schedule because of the extraction, but 'tis also the story of my life!) and decorating and then woke up at 8 (to which he complained that that wasn't really even sleeping in!) so we could run to target real quick (have you ever tried to do that, cause it is h-a-r-d, hard! which made me think of a fun blog post the anatomy of a target visit - coming to a blog near you real soon!) before 'nastics, you follow?
at any rate (always wanted to say/write that) we made it to 'nastics on time and it was one of the most fun days at 'nastics in a long time. i'm sure the fact that addie was soooo excited to show off for her bubba (she even followed directions for stretching! mostly!) that she was all smiles the whole time. enough talking though, let the pictures speak for themselves! along with my uber witty cations, of course.
getting ready for the warm up song.
at this point my camera battery started blinking so i knew i needed to snap judiciously.
otherwise this post would be a lot longer.
aren't you glad?
yay!
first time this gymnastics class that she has stretched!
she did roll back a few times, always trying to impress that brother of hers!
reaching for the spiders annnnnd crush the spiders!
then we go over to the other side of the gym, the kids sit on this here beam, and the teacher tells them the skill they will be focusing on.
addie always sits so daintily.
so then addie hopped on the beam a few times, and did some other hopping (the skill of the day was hopping, or something like that) and then she got to go play.
she loved this!
she kept saying "again, bubba!"
she even held on to the bar the whole way across!
first time this class!
she is skiiiiny stuff!
then we got to go back to the other side of the gym for some more fun!
PIT!
she loves to jump!
okay, so we're growing her bangs out and they are long and annoying right now, but not long enough to do a lot with them, and she loses barrettes in like 5 minutes. so she does this thing 50 times a day, where she uses both of her hands and moves her bangs out of her eyes, but then her hair looks all crazy parted in the middle. i love to hate it.
so here is the beginning of the bang push...
... and the end. lovely, huh?!
addie was a little apprehensive about swinging, but once she got on, she loved it!
what i love about this picture is that every adult in the room was clapping for my brave girl. and oh, was she proud!
then when it was time for her to fall she got a little scared again. and maybe swung a few more times.
but then she let go! big girl!
then we broke out the parachute! after a few times of making a parachute tent and ring around the rosy, coach kim had all the kids get in the middle and the parents did ring around the rosy.
and then the parents (and one sweet bubba) started running and the kids were laughing and i swear there was not one person in that gym that wasn't smiling ear-to-ear! it was so, so, so fun and cute and i wish i had more battery cause i would have recorded it! i would have been a running, parachute holding, recording crazy mama.
after the parachute fun we got to go back to the other side of the gym for stamps. addie got a little over-zealous about getting stamped and tryed to cut in line by squeezing in between kids on the beam after coach kim had told her to sit at the end. sooo then she had to be very last to get stamped which resulted in us being late for our own playgroup, but that's another post. :)
we love our 'nastics!
