We had to take 2 cars, since Matt is leaving early. So Matt took the first turn with the girls, and Chris and I got to ride in peace. Then, he offered to drive. Yahtzee! I was able to blog and sleep and enjoy the ride.
Mishap #1. Daniel needed an emergency bathroom stop, and Matt wasn't able to get off the freeway in time. He had only the little girls as co-pilots, so he couldn't text, so we had to talk and figure out where to meet.
Road trip fail #1. I didn't pack any snacks. Not a single road trip snack. What is wrong with me??? So by 11:30, the girls were starving. Matt found a McDonald's and got the girls some lunch, and then we met them there.
Mishap #2. About 10 minutes after leaving the McDonald's, (so that's the second mcd's, since Daniels bathroom stop was a mcd's too) Laura quickly pulls over on the side of the freeway. Her muffler started to fall off and was dragging! I came into the truck to hang out with the girls, while the rest of the crew went to figure out the muffler.
Matt banged and bent at the hot muffler, and after a few minutes, it just fell off.
Then, he threw it into the woods and we went on our merry way. Littering that muffler broke my Eagle Scouts heart. What are two crazy families to do though?
We stopped at smithfields for a delicious pulled pork lunch, where this little cutie continued her 2 1/2 year potty training ordeal. At least she's cute.
It started to rain as we drove on to Camp Lejune. Awesome timing. Thankfully, it didn't last, but it did stay cloudy and grey. We got unpacked and headed to the beach!!!
And all the mishaps and fails were made right. Ahhhhhh.
The ocean was super choppy! The waves were throwing everybody around and made this momma super nervous.
Delaney toppled head over heels several times. Josh toppled so hard that he cut his forehead on the bottom.
We played at the beach for about an hour, till it started to rain, and then headed home for showers.
We got some awesome (not) Bratz dolls in our happy meals, and Addie got an eye sticker stuck to her foot. (: and I am easily amused.
This site during scriptures that night made me smile. Addie and Maggie have big girl legs, all bug bitten and scraped, and Laney still has baby legs, all little and smooth. I don't know, this momma heart of mine.

We ate our shepherds pie, fruit, and salad for dinner, and then Chris and Maggie had kitchen duty. And Laney is one of Maggie's biggest fans. (:
The cabins are cute and tiny. There's a little loft that the three girls are sleeping in. They get a kick out of hanging their feet over the side.We got some awesome (not) Bratz dolls in our happy meals, and Addie got an eye sticker stuck to her foot. (: and I am easily amused.

We hit the sack around 11. Delaney was excited, and played and ran around the "cabinet," as she calls the loft. at one point I heard a loud "boo!" And it was just Delaney, playing and being silly. It was a busy day!
