Ward Christmas party

Saturday was the ward party and I woke up feeling gross again. I stayed in bed as long as I could and then dragged myself for a walk because I was pretty sure I’d feel better, and I did.

The crew blitzed everything so it was nice and clean and then Matt and I started on our pasta bar that afternoon. We made spaghetti and Alfredo sauce and then 3 kinds of pasta to make enough for 50. I had everything timed out so it would stay as warm as possible but not burn. It took 5 crockpots so we also needed extension cords and all the fixings - butter and parm and serving utensils.

We watched Christmas movies while we cooked since we’re so far behind on our movie watching and it was fun to cook together.

The party was so cute, Alecia had people decorate tables with different country themes. Adi and Lily laughed when they realized they were twinning accidentally.

We sat at Teresa’s Japanese table with the Shallington’s, Nielson’s, and Chris.

After we finished our plates we checked our pasta bar and the pasta was completely empty. Whoops. It’s so hard to know how much food to offer. We had lots of sauce left, but no pasta. 🤷‍♀️

After dinner people had decorated rooms to represent different countries and everyone had passports with stamps to walk around and get checked off. Delaney decided to use her face instead. 🤷‍♀️

After dinner people had brought cookies and visited and it was a really great party. We helped cleanup and with everyone pitching in it went really quickly and smoothly. Always so many pictures on my phone.

Johnna went around and took pictures and Amber and I were chatting.

Johnna also shared a video of Bishop Wiests Spain room where you had to hit a log 🤷‍♀️ and Delaney participated happily.

It was a lovely Saturday before Christmas. And I had to laugh at the back of Jackie’s mom’s card. She used to tell us to make memories every time we’d go on a trip or go do something fun. So for her card to say “Let’s make memories!” Chefs kiss, so perfect.
