after the zoo fun we had just enough time to head up to okada for a 5:00 celebratory dinner. loves.
the little girls have each gone through some anxiety about the noise and fire and knives of the Japanese steakhouse. it's gotten better, but they're still a little nervous.
the mccombs met up with us, it's become a tradition, and we had a good time catching shrimp in our mouths. or missing shrimp, as the case with our family was this time.
after dinner we headed home for my first attempt at ice cream cake. I made a boxed cake, cooled it, slathered melty ice cream on it, and refroze it. topped it with whipped cream and it was yummy.
they very sweetly shared a cake and took turns opening presents. two kids with the same birthday! what a trip.
I like to wrap things in boxes, it looks so much better, which means that sometimes kids get granola or cereal boxes with gifts in them.
addie got a week at horse camp. I have promised her that for years, so she is very excited. :)
chris got some extreme close ups.
birthday celebrations are so fun! and I am so glad that my birthday streak is over. i'm smooth sailing in the gift department till Christmas!
this is our odd year, so now we have a 19, 17, 7, 5, and 3 year old. it was a happy birthday!
in other news, Delaney continues to fall off her big girl bed almost nightly. she continues to be happy to sleep in said big girl bed. and we continue to have her room in disarray. 1 crib and 2 bed are 2 pieces of furniture too much in that room. I hate logistics. :/
