it was a fun weekend full of friends! we watched the darrow's kids friday and saturday and the kids had a blast. friday was so easy. frankie, curtis, and laney kept eachother occupied, while emma hung out with me and i got my whole room cleaned out. drawers, underneath drawers, everything is pristine and gorgeous.
then friday night sarah came over and we took turns watching the kids (after they were all in bed) to go see our friend shelly, who just had a baby. new babies are so precious! it wasn't the best sleeping night for anyone at the ray homestead. laney was up 3 times, frankie once, and the big girls woke up for the day at 5:45. i told them to go back to sleep, but then i could hear them bouncing on the trampoline. :/ everyone was pretty tired on saturday.
sarah and i had contemplated taking the whole gang to the annual parks and rec easter egg hunt on saturday, but as i got to thinking about it, 6 kids (9 between the 2 of us) is a lot. i am trying not to overfill my plate to the point where things that i am doing for the kids become not fun for the kids because i am so stressed out. so we settled for playing the day away at sarah's house. a few timeouts, a few kicking them back outside (sleeping babies!), but mostly it was just a fun day.
tony took them for a walk and took some fun pictures.
and i got to cuddle with my buddy, adeline. love her. :)
i got pride in my ride, it's my swagga wagon!
and don't mind my bratty kids who don't cooperate. addie is trying to get out of the picture, frankie was ignoring me altogether, and laney is looking abused. at least some kids like to have fun! 6 carseats up in the jolly green! sa-weet!
sunday was a nice quiet day.addie did lots of art and they played outside a little in the nice spring weather. at church they dropped a bomb that in two weeks our ward will be reorganized. i have never been in a ward where this happened, so i have a million questions. i am thinking there is a good chance i will be getting a new calling since kitty lives over the bridge. but then, maybe we'll be in a whole new ward altogether. either way, change is hard, and we have 2 weeks to pray about it and wrap our heads around it. i know everything will be just fine. Heavenly Father is in charge and knows what is best for each of us. and they've been talking about changing boundaries since we moved here 5 years ago, so it's not really a surprise.
after we put the girls to bed i got to watch a chic flic with this chic. i picked a handful of movies, and lexi chose 50 first dates, super cute. we had a good weekend of getting along, here's to hoping it lasts!
today is the first official day of spring break. i decided to stick to my regular up at 5:45 schedule. i slept in yesterday and had a headache all day, so i really think it's probably best to get up early.
happy spring!
