Everyone woke up early Monday morning. We’d been in our tents since like 7pm the night before, so we were all ready to wake up and get going. Thankfully it finally wasn’t raining.
It rained and stormed all night long, and unfortunately the Aina’s, and Addie and Abby’s tent leaked. Being wet is so miserable, we felt so bad.
Cleaning up a muddy camp mess is about as fun as it sounds.
Thankfully it didn’t take too long. We knew we’d have to clean and dry out all the tents and canopies at home, so we didn’t worry too much about that stuff.
We managed to put all of our dry things into the truck and all the wet things in the Thule, so that was nice.
Everyone pitched in, and we were actually packed up and ready to go by 10:30. It was pretty amazing.
These two didn’t get a lot of sleep in their wet tent. 😔
Before we left, the dads flew their drones and we got some family pictures. We laughed and laughed at this one. Why was there a big gap between us? So awkward!
There we go! This one is better. It was a beautiful hazy day with low clouds on the mountains. It’s such a beautiful area! We’d love to come back out and do more exploring.
Ellie has sour sggetti and shared with Delaney all weekend, so when we stopped for gas at Wawa, D was on a mission to find some.
We got home around 3 and got right to work. After we unloaded everything, I vacuumed out the car. I remember in New Mexico I had a neighbor that was a super neat freak and I remember her vacuuming out her car just hours after returning from a road trip, and that’s been a goal of mine ever since. Goal - ✔️
We rocked the unpacking. Matt and all three girls cleaned the tent and canopy while I and whatever girl wasn’t helping Matt started laundry and unloaded everything else. We put the fan on the tent to dry it out.
The girls came home to fine their rooms had been boo’d! They had boo’d Alli with cute drawings and their leftover candy several weeks ago, and all i had been planning this since. They were so excited!
Speaking of excited. T was stoked to see us, and we were happy to see her too. She jumped on me and gave me kisses all over my face, which is a no-no in my book, but was cute. She’s really become part of the family.
We got to FaceTime with this handsome fella. He is getting so big and says lots of words and loves washing his hands. He’s a true pandemic boy! They got him his own soap dispenser that they put water in, and he loves squirting it on his hands and rubbing them together. He’s also obsessed with baby shark. He runs to his room to listen to it on his google play and he dances and dies the different shark actions. It’s so sweet!
And finally, this feels relatable especially after a camping weekend with s’mores feasts every day.
I did 4 loads of laundry and we were completely unpacked, except for the drying tents in the garage.

It was such a wonderful trip! We all rated it a 7 or above. It was fun and beautiful and just so great to get away.
