I texted Chrissy one day to make sure a Friday party wouldn't conflict with a party for Brian and she said they weren't doing anything for him, and then asked if we'd like to combine and have a party together. Yes please!
We debated about where to have it, and finally settled on norm and dari's house. I'm so glad we did! We had talked to tony about doing our patio and he said he thought he'd be able to get it done by the 11th. And then we got like 25 days of straight rain. I'd have been a stressful mess if we hadn't changed it!
I knew I wanted a face cake, and i think this one came out really cool.
Duke's 5th grade promo was that same day, so I snagged these balloon pillars, and even though they didn't match, I think they looked really cool.
We had corn hole, volleyball, bounce house, trampoline, and a nice screened in deck. The weather was perfect, not too hot, not too cold.
We planned for 100, and about 75 showed up.
Everything looked really cool! Dari and I shopped on Wednesday, then I cooked most of Thursday. Chrissy got tons of balloons and everybody worked for a long part of Friday getting everything together. We served hamburgers and hotdogs, watermelon, fruit salad, 2 salsas, lots of chips, 3 pasta salads, 2 potato salads, cole slaw, a veggie tray, cookies, cake, and macaroons. Not surprisingly, we had TONS leftover. It worked though because I took a lot to Addie's baptism the next day, and a lot to different bbq's and get togethers we've had since. (:
Grandpa flew in at 2:30 and showed up around 6, which was super fun!
These cute boys!
They had so much fun. It was a really good night.
This was the one pic I took of guests. Super fail.
We decided to clean up the next day, but then we got started and just went ahead and finished that night. It was a great party and so much fun celebrating our awesome grads!
