matt's Christmas party at work. it's such a fun night that we look forward to every year. i usually buy a new dress, so this year i went out on a limb. i've always wanted a cute 50's dress, but i've never gotten around to buying one. my sweet friend alecia one day said, you should just buy it. and it was like, yeah, i really should! so i did. and since it was red, i decided to wear it to the party. with a petticoat. i've never worn one before and it was so fun! might not have been the most Christmassy, but meh.
if you'd ever like a very unflattering picture, ask addie. she'll add chins and whatever else you fancy.
ready for a night on the town!
as we were taking pictures, someone else was getting busy.
who wears it better? total tie, right?!
for the last 5 years the party has been at the hollywood volunteer fire department. this year they had a new management company, so everything was decorated differently. this is the worst picture ever, but the background was so pretty! hello, miss no-neck.
the tables and everything were different and so fancy. loved it!
so pretty!
we mingled and chatted. we found out that even our table mates were different this year. we still sat with archie and tara, but gary and lisa were at a different table. all's well that ends well, cause we got 4 super fun couples. and, i might add, of the 10 people at our table, 5 of them won prizes! neither matt or i were among those winners, but it was still fun to be at such a winning table.
deee-sserts.
it was a fun night, and i always enjoy grown up time with my main squeeze. but after dinner, when everyone else starts really drinking, we hit the road. we got home by like, 9:30, we're so lame!
the next night was the darrows annual Christmas party, another one we look forward to all season. alecia was even sweet enough to have the party on saturday instead of friday so we could enjoy the whole thing. just to reward her (haha) we showed up first. :) i don't think that's ever happened, but it helped that our babysitter was a few minutes early. we made gingerbread houses (tony won), played Christmas family fued (we lost), and a Christmas song game, (we won) and then, the event of the evening, the white elephant gift exchange. we brought a chillow and a turbie towel (fav) cause i'm a sucker for "as seen on tv." we brought home some much sought after yankee candles - that i've been burning all month and smell wonderful, and an elf hat. we were both happy.
i took exactly one picture all night, of alecia and josh opening the epic giant gift from the myers - tv trays! it was such a fun night and we're all already looking forward to next year. :)
the girls enjoyed our gingerbread outhouse the next morning.
supah fun weekend!
