1st time

We woke the girls up just after 8 this morning. We had a good nights sleep and were ready for a good day! We met up at the Franklin Institute, dropped our kids off, grabbed a free ice cream to celebrate ol’ Ben’s birthday, and headed to the temple.

It was snowing as we went in, and we weren’t sure how it would be when we got done, but it wasn’t bad at all. We were able to perform several sealing ordinances and then an endowment session. I met a woman that was a very new convert and had just gotten married into a big, blended family, so that was a sweet experience. See the snowflake in my hair?

We made sandwiches and quickly ate, the Darrow’s brought the whole crew to meet us at the temple, and then we came up with our baptism plan. I went in with the group first, and Addie was able to be the first one baptized. I helped the girls prepare and answered their questions. They gave them white jumpers, sports bras, and wrestling unitard looking underwear, but it was all a little confusing for two newbies. It was so cute how excited the girls were. Lily said she was jumping with excitement in her head. Lily and I were able to be witnesses for Addie, and that was special too. Women being able to be witnesses is such a new thing, and this was my first opportunity. Best first time ever. I got Addie settled in the shower and headed back to the visitors center to switch out with Alecia.

The kids and I took a field trip down to the parking garage and grabbed some more food.

The kids were wired, so after food I had them run a few laps. The parking garage was v empty, so it was totally safe.

It had stopped snowing and had turned to heavy, cold, wet rain by the time we were ready to go.

This big girl!

Alecia sent some fun pics from the Franklin.

It’s been a fun few years having passes to such a cool place.

That said, our DC temple can’t open soon enough!

We do love Philadelphia. there is so much to do, so many delicious things to eat, and it’s not really that far.

We got going just after 4. We had heavy rain the first few hours, but thankfully it’s stopped now. Next up is Bay Bridge crossing with a wind advisory. We’re just thankful the snow stopped and it’s been a quiet, peaceful, wet ride home.
