We always love when Santa comes to LG. It was still snowy this year. I’m ready for more snow!
It was a beautiful night! Bitter cold, but clear and pretty.
We had already seen Santa, so we didn’t bother waiting in line for pictures. That allowed us to be first in line for the sleigh ride. And enabled us to high five Santa when he arrived.
Sleigh ride, sleigh ride! (sung to the tune of Wilson Phillips Hey Santa)
Frankie sat in the back with her daddy.
After that we were able to pretty quickly scoot over to ride in a brand new (new car smell!) fire truck. Frankie and Delaney got to ride up front and turn on the lights and sirens. It was pretty awesome.
Hot stuff.
And my lover and I. That red light is super flattering, right?
We stopped by to add our donation to the volunteer fire department. After the house that burned down last year, they hold a place in our hearts.
Addie acted like she didn’t care about not riding in the front of the truck and pushing the buttons, but I knew it did. As we passed the park I asked once more if she wanted to go back for a ride in the front, and she finally agreed. I’ll take that any day of the week over silently pouting.
We got in line and waited for a turn to ride upfront. They were great and kind and let her have a turn at the sirens and lights. So precious.
She shared a story she wants to write. It’s about some kids that had to ride in the elevator at school, but then the elementary just keeps going down, down, down, into the earths inner mantle and there’s another world down there. She’s so clever and creative, I love, and am confused by the way her brain works
We got home to hot chocolate and bedtime stories. That was a good day.
