day 3

yesterday it took us awhile to get rolling. laura and david went to a presentation at the timeshare and i stayed with the kids to get things ready for the beach. we weren't quite sure where to go, so after a little bit of driving around we finally went up to ventnor city.
(sound familiar? it's one of the yellow properties in monopoly)
finally, after being here for 2 days, we hit the beach!

david digging, laura and frankie building drip castles, and lex, josh, kt, and joseph frolicking in the waves.
frankie loved this hole david dug for joseph.

i got to hang out with this little cutie. by the time we left she was as wet and sandy as the rest of us, despite my best efforts at keeping her clean and dry.
she fell asleep for a few minutes, but fought hard to stay awake for the rest of the time.
addie loves the water! she had no problem coming out into the waves with me.
loving the fake/pained smile.
our sweet setup.
after being in the quiet outer banks it was odd to look down the beach and see the big hotels and casinos. definitely a different feel. i think i prefer the quiet.
there were these cute lifeguard stations with rowboats in front of them every few 100 yards.
i don't think i've ever seen that before.
frankie liked the beach a lot better this trip. she even came out in the waves with me and had a really good time until a big wave came over us. we didn't fall, but her face got all wet and she was done. then she was so tired and crying (and i was feeding laney) so david picked her up and she fell right to sleep. it was cute. :)
after a delicious enchilada dinner we put the kids to bed and the grownups went to check out the steel pier. we're scoping it out for a kid trip today or tomorrow. the trump taj mahal entrance on the boardwalk looked really cool, but this picture does it no justice.
lexi texted while we were out and said "get home."
this is what i "got home" too. poor baby had been crying and they couldn't get her to stop.
let it be known that she was asleep when i left.
she had a hard time going to sleep after that, but we cuddled and ate and all was well. :)
